One of the unique tools we used at Springwater chiropractic is infrared laser therapy. This is sometimes called cold laser therapy or low level laser therapy because it doesn’t heat up the skin and is different than a surgical laser. It uses a specific frequency of infrared light to accelerate tissue damage in humans.
Just as plants use the green spectrum of light for photo synthesis it has been shown that human tissue heals faster when exposed to a specific frequency of infrared light. Often we will use the infrared laser therapy for whiplash injuries if we identify ligament damage to the neck.
We also use infrared laser therapy for certain sports injuries where muscle tissue has been torn. Dr. Prom has used this on himself following surgery to accelerate the healing over the incisions and to reduce pain.
